Dear TFSC Membership;
I want to thank all the membership of Triangle FSC and Team Triangle for the incredible efforts and hard work displayed to the figure skating community to make the 2013 South Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championships a huge success. There is a small core is vital volunteers that get the ball rolling for events such as South Atlantics, but it takes all the great volunteers to fill in daily to make our skaters, parents, coaches, vendors and officials feel comfortable. I have received over 50 emails form skating clubs, skating parents, coaches and officials thanking us for a great Championship. They thank me for the success of the event, but I want to thank you for stepping forward to volunteer to make Triangle FSC look spectacular in the eyes of US Figure Skating. US Figure Skating is run by volunteers and a local club like TFSC needs your efforts to grow and succeed.
I must to extend my deepest thanks to Debbie Lang, Beth Godwin, Mary Wilson, Holly Eisenhour, Jennifer Batayneh, Laura Parrott, Allison Parrot, Don and Janie Hudson, Alan Harris, Susan Rotman, Betty King, Kevin and Samantha Schilf, Jerry and Kim Parise, and Lena Webb for all their efforts prior to the start of the 13 days we call “South Atlantics”. Without this vital inner core of volunteers the event would not have taken shape and been so easy for me, the Chair, to present to the rest of the membership and incoming skaters.
The most difficult place to volunteer is registration and practice ice. It takes a special demeanor and tons of patience to get through a shift with some skating parents calling you out for situations you have no control over. So for those volunteers that stepped forward and put themselves out there I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being on the front line. You are truly an asset to TFSC and TFSC could not move forward without people like you.
This was our second South Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championship and it won’t be our last. We learned so much from the first one and I believe we applied that knowledge to make this one even better. TFSC has the reputation as a great host to not only the officials and coaches, but also the skaters and parents. I am looking forward to the future as we place bids for Adult Championships, South Atlantics, Eastern Sectionals and maybe one day Synchronized Skating Competitions. TFSC will need all of you to make each event as memorable at this one.
Thank you so much for standing beside me as we make Wake Forest a force in the competitive skating world.
