Is proud to announce the results of the Southern Basic Skills Grand Prix
On October 10th, 2010 during the nonqualifying portion of the 2011 South Atlantic Figure Skating Championships, the young Carolina athletes that took place in the 2010 Southern Basic Skills Grand Prix will be competing at the GRAND PRIX FINAL!!!
North and South Carolina Figure Skating Clubs; Triangle FSC, Port City Skating Club, Central Carolina Skating Club and rinks like Polar Ice House, Wilmington Ice House, Carolina Ice Palace all supported the young skaters that will be our future in the Carolinas.
Points were awarded to all skaters that competed in a free skating competition; 15 for 1st, 13 for 2nd, 11 for 3rd and so on. Those skaters that competed at multiple events had their scores added together. Skaters that choose to participate in only one competition had their scores ranked by placement and date the competition took place.
Invitations are being extended to the TOP 6 skaters in each level - Snowplow Sam through Free Skate 6. The SGP committee decided to extend an invitation to all skaters that had the same score as the 6th place skater, either by a direct TIE or same placement even if at a competition on a different date. One alternate is being identified and will be contacted, possibly after the close of entries, if one of the invited skaters choses not to participate.
To enter the Southern Basic Skills Grand Prix Final (SGPF) go to www.tfscnc.org, click the nonqualifying dates (October 8 - 10) and follow the link to Entry Eeze. You will be asked to register for the GPF and charged NO FEE. As part of the SGPF you are welcome to register for additional events as in - JUMPS for the Basic Skills Free Skating Levels and/or the SHOWCASE Events "E", "F" or "G" and/or TEST TRACK Limited Beginner or Beginner and/or the same in COMPULSORY MOVES. You will be charged regular entry fees for all additional events.
The announcement for the Southern Basic Skills Grand Prix Final and the 2011 Nonqualifying South Atlantics Figure Skating Championships are attached. Attached is the final placement results with an identifier "X" of those eligible to register for the SGPF.
